Diego V. Silva

Diego V. Silva peacefully passed from this life on May 18, 2022 at the age of 67.  He was born to the late David T. and Tomasa V. Silva on October 18, 1954 in San Benito, Texas.

In his leisure time, Diego enjoyed fishing, gardening, and baking. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and watching his grandchildren play competitive sports.

Diego is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dilia V. Silva, Daniel V. Silva, Dimas V. Silva, and Tomasita Silva (Enrique Garcia).

Left to treasure Diego’s memory are his children, Maria G. Cervantes (Gabriel), Diego Silva Jr. (Priscilla), and Damian E. Silva; grandchildren, Ricardo Delgado III, Devin Silva, Maite Cervantes, Destiny Hernandez, Dannilynn Silva, Mirely Cervantes, Diego Silva III, and Daniel Silva. He is also survived by his siblings, David V. Silva (Consuelo), Dionicio V. Silva (Mary), Delia S. Gonzalez (Reynaldo), Delfina Rodriguez (Victor), and Diana Benavidez (Romeo); and, numerous nieces and nephews.

The Silva family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Diego Silva Jr., Damian E. Silva, Devin Silva, Gabriel Cervantes, Bryan Benavidez, Dionicio Silva, Tito Moctezuma Jr., and David Rocha. Honorary pallbearers are Maite Cervantes, Mirely Cervantes, Destiny Hernandez, Dannilynn Silva, Diego Silva III, Mark J. Silva, Ricardo Delgado III, and Daniel Silva.
