Dennis Berl Thomas passed away peacefully on March 20, 2023 at home with his wife and oldest brother by his side. He was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas and moved to the beautiful community of Vanderpool, Texas four years ago.
He leaves behind his wife, Roberta; his three children, Dennis (Christy) Thomas, Dayna (Jeremy) Ford, and David (Becca) Thomas; and seven grandchildren. He also leaves behind his nephew, Brandon Barr, who was like a son to him.
He is survived by his brothers, Charles (Deanna) Thomas of Vanderpool, Texas, and Bruce Thomas of Harlingen, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
Dennis is preceded in death by his mother, Jeannine Witt Earley; father, Beau Thomas; sister, Sandra Honeycutt Ashley; his twin brother, Kenneth Thomas; as well as the mother of his children, Debbie Beddoe.
Dennis was a volunteer firefighter and a forty-year member of the Harlingen Elks Lodge #1889. He always had a smile on his face and was the life of the party. He loved to dance, fish, and get together with friends and family.
A service to celebrate Dennis’ life and legacy will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vanderpool Volunteer Fire Department, 32647 State Highway 187 North.
Dennis will be missed by all who knew him.
