Dennis Leo Croasmun, 78, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at his residence in Harlingen, TX. Dennnis was born October 4, 1934 in Valier, PA to Donald and Kathryn Croasmun. He attended schools in Punxsutawney, PA and earned an Associates Degree from Youngstown Stte University.
Dennis was a boilermaker by trade and worked with Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Sharon Steel, McKay Machine, American Tank and retired from Dakota Gasification. He loved to travel in his RV where he was a member of the Good Sams RV for many years.
Debbis was a winter visitor to the valley area and before becoming a resident of Harlingen at Park Place Estates. He was a member of the Park Place Bike Club and Roas Knights Hot Rod Club. He was also a member of the Christian Fellowship Church in Harlingen, Calvary Assembly of God in Boardman, OH, Stanton Assembly of God & Beulah Assembly in North Dakota and the United Methodist Church in Valier, PA.
Dennis had many interest and hobbies that included bike riding, hot rods, and race cars. He was an avid camper and boater and enjoyed playing and watching basketball and baseball. He also liked Penn St. football, playing volleyball at Park Place Estates and especially enjoyed building and fixing things.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Jean (Kloss) Croasmun of Harlingen; sons, Donald Croasmun of Struthers, OH, Dennis (Sue) Croasmun of Rootstown, OH, Daryl Croasmun of North Lima, OH, David Croasmun of Glendale, AZ; grandchildren, Justin and Jason Croasmun of Rootstown, OH, Leeda Croasmun of Struthers, OH and Jayme Lowe of Struthers, OH: great grandchildren, Gracie Trafan of North Webster, IN and Wesley Jones of Struthers, OH; brother, David H. (Nancy) Croasmun of Harlingen, TX; many nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Jeanie Croasmun of Jacksonville, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Jane Dravesky and her husband, William Dravesky; brother, Thomas Jay Croasmun; daughter-in-law, Darla (Lowe) Croasmun and his in-laws, Bud and Rojenne Kloss.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Park Place Estates Ballroom, 5401 W. Hwy 83, in Harlingen, TX, 2:00 PM, Friday, July 19, 2013.
