Dennis John Cosenza, 69, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at his residence.
Dennis was born December 7, 1940 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Camillo F. and Norine R. Cosenza. He attended Bloom High School in Bloom Township, Illinois and proudly served his country with the United States Army and the Army Reserves. Dennis had an extensive insurance career and was presently employed with the Horace Mann Insurance Company. He was member of the Lifeline Heart of Worship Church in Harlingen and a volunteer with the Prison Fellowship in Willacy County. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Camillo F. and Norine R. Cosenza.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sheryl A. Cosenza; his children, Dennis M. Cosenza II and Stephanie A. Cosenza; brothers-in-law, Steve Jurus and Kevin (Linda) Jurus; sister-in-law, Shearin Jurus; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 710 Ed Carey Dr. Harlingen, Texas from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Lifeline Heart of Worship Church, 622 E. Jefferson, Harlingen, Texas at 1 p.m. with Pepe Cervantes, officiating. Interment will follow at Heavenly Grace Cemetery, 26873 N. White Ranch Rd, La Feria, TX.
Pallbearers will be Dennis M. Cosenza II, Rick Ortiz, Steve Jurus, Alan Guzman, Freddy Salinas and Kevin Flores. Honorary pallbearers will be Salvador Mendoza and Constancio Ruiz.
The family requests, memorial contributions be made to the Lifeline Heart of Worship Church for the Prison Fellowship Ministries, 622 E. Jefferson, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
