Delia (Rangel) Rodriguez

Delia (Rangel) Rodriguez, 63, peacefully passed from this life January 8, 2023. She was born March 11, 1959 to Valentín and Juanita Rangel in San Benito, Texas.

She was a valued employee of Valley Baptist Medical Center – Harlingen for fifteen years until her retirement.

She enjoyed helping people, following her Facebook friends, traveling, and walking along the beach. On Christmas Day, Delia loved watching her grandkids open the gifts she had lovingly given them. She especially enjoyed dancing with her husband, Roman.

Delia is preceded in death her parents, Valentín and Juanita Rangel; daughter, Monica Ayala; grandson, Anthony Guzmán; brothers, Valentín Rangel, Jr. and Ruben Rangel; and sisters, Elisa Cavazos and Lile Ramirez.

Left to treasure Delia’s memory is her husband, Román Rodriguez; son, Frank (Veronica) Ayala; and, Brandon (Brenda) Guzmán, Sadie Guzmán, Dayla Guzmán, Melanie Ayala, Eli Ayala, Marissa Ayala, Aiden Guzmán, Aaliyah Garza, Robert Gonzales. She also leaves behind her sisters, Mary Zamora and Velma Mercado; her niece (who was like a sister), Ofelia Painter; and friend, Nati Ayala.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin Wednesday evening at 7 o’clock. Visitation will continue Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. to Las Rusias Cemetery Memorial Cemetery for the Rite of Committal and interment.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Rubén Bejaran, Freddy Garcia, Agustín Peña, Benigno Peña Jr., Jorge Alvarez, and Johnny Covarrubias. Joe Alvarez, Jr. will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
