Deborah Kaye Kelly

Deborah Kaye Kelly, 59, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on July 19, 2024. She was born February 2, 1965, in Austin, TX. Deborah was adopted by the loving Veale family from a young teenage couple who were not up to the task of raising her. She was an outgoing and gentle woman who will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. She was loved by many.

After graduating high school, Deborah attended Pan American University Edinburg and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education.

Deborah pursued a career in elementary education teaching music at Donna, Harlingen, and San Benito School Districts. She loved teaching the students music and having them perform for their parents during special events.

In her free time, Deborah enjoyed trips to see San Antonio Spurs basketball and Houston Astros baseball, tennis and Nascar races on most Sundays. She enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Disneyland, Disney World, Washington DC and the 1996 Summer Olympics with her family.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband Kevin Kelly, son Matthew Kelly, brothers Robert Veale, Mark Veale and extended family. Deborah will be cherished in their hearts and memories.

Deborah was preceded in death by her brother David Veale, father Claude “Bob” Veale and mother Betty (Jolliff) Veale.

The Kelly family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith “First” Christian Church in Harlingen. Following the service, Deborah will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park.
