Deanna Sue Jervis went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 29, 2008.
Deanna was born on September 26, 1943 in Marion, Indiana to parents Harold and Delores Jervis. She graduated from Harlingen High School in 1961 and went on to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Pan American University. She had a very fulfilling life working with special needs 3-5 year old children in Weslaco ISD for 25 years. Deanna’s hobby and greatest accomplishment in her life was how she constantly looked for ways to help others and to make their lives better. Her selflessness was tireless and she earned a reputation as being a guardian angel to many.
Deanna is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Delores Jervis, brothers Jon and Jay Jervis, and infant sister Orena Kay Jervis.
She is survived by her twin sister, Susanna Jervis of Harlingen, Texas, sister-in-law Chris Jervis of Ledbetter, Texas, five nieces and nephews, James (Minnie) Pearcy, Janet Pearcy, John (Carla) Pearcy, all from Harlingen, Jon (Missy) Jervis, and Robin (Joaquin) Lucio of Ledbetter, Texas, 13 great nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen today from 12:00 to 9:00PM with the family present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at First Christian Church on Saturday afternoon, November 1, 2008 at 2:00PM with burial following at Mont Meta.
Pallbearers are James Pearcy, John Pearcy, Jon Jervis, Joaquin Lucio, Barry Smith, Blake Smith, and Paco Castellano. Memorial donations can be made to Easter Seals.
