Harlingen:
David Clifton Summa passed away on February 24, 2009 at home in the loving arms of his wife Dotty and son John.
He was born on March 23, 1925 to John and Gertrude Summa in Corpus Christi, Texas. Living on the coast as he grew up instilled a passion in him for the sea and fishing which remained a constant throughout his life. His love for life was deep as well as for his love for family and friends.
He was a WW II veteran having served in the army. He retired in 1972 from the Federal Aviation Administration and went on to work for several years at the Sugar Mill here in the valley.
There will be no memorial service. His wishes were that his ashes be scattered at sea giving his life full circle.
He is survived by his wife, Dotty; sons, John and Stephen Summa; daughter, Yvonne Davin; grandchildren Bridget and Joey Summa, Michael and David Summa; and great grandchildren.
