David M. Lozano left this world to be with our Holy Father on November 17, 2023. David was born on January 12, 1932. The first of two children born to Guillermo (Willie) Lozano II and Hazel P. Lozano of Harlingen Texas
David was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Well loved by all his family and friends. David had such a full of life personality he easily made friends. He taught his children that God came first and the rewards of working hard to achieve their goals.
After graduating Harlingen High school, he enlisted in the Air Force and achieved Staff Sargent status when he was honorably discharged. He then enrolled at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. David was then employed by the Rio Hondo CISD as an educator. Later he applied for a position with the Federal Government where he held different positions until his retirement as a Federal Probation Supervisor.
David enjoyed being around his family and friends. His hobbies were hunting and fishing, playing poker, and playing Golf.
David is preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother Guillermo (Billy) M. Lozano III, and sons Daniel M. Lozano and Dennis M. Lozano.
He leaves behind his wife, Virginia Lozano; his children, Rebecca L. Lozano, David M. Lozano Jr. (Tammy), Donald Michael Lozano, Patricia (Trish) Lozano Swander (David); stepsons and daughters, Heather Cambel (Carson), Norma L. Alfaro (Edward), Veronica Lynn Vasquez, Tacho R. Garza III (Connie), and Alan R. Garza (Erica); his grandchildren, Daniel M. Lozano II, Miranda R. Lozano, Savanah Swander Maldonado (Travis); great grandchildren, Mason and Violet Maldonado; daughter-in-law, Brenda (McKinney) Lozano; and sister-in-law, Imelda Lozano
The Lozano family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 12:00 P.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock Tuesday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 1015 E.
