David Cavazos

November 1, 1977 — January 6, 2021

David Cavazos went to be with his Lord and Savior and joined his beloved parents Dan and Olga Cavazos in heaven after passing away suddenly due to natural causes.  David was born and raised in San Benito, Texas. He graduated from Harlingen South High School where he played baseball and was involved in many extracurricular activities including Future Farmers of America (FFA).  His involvement in FFA led him to a lifelong love of cattle, cowboying, and ranching.

David attended the University of Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) where he majored in Animal Science/Pre-Vet. During the 80’s and early 90’s, David and his parents were owners and operators of the Triple “C” Ranch – Cavazos Cattle Company.  David’s love for the cattle industry led him to many great career opportunities.  The latest of which was as an inspector for the Texas Animal Health Commission.  David absolutely loved his job.  On any given day, the Cavazos family text thread would receive a picture of David and his coworkers hard at work.  He often said, “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life!”

David was an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend.

David is survived by his sister Denise C. (Luis) Lopez and brother, Daniel (Raquel) Cavazos III. He is also survived by four nephews, Daniel B. Cavazos IV, Christian T. Cavazos, Alejandro Roque (Jessica), Alfonso Roque, as well as many cousins.

David was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Daniel and Olga Cavazos, and niece Bethany LeeAnn Cavazos.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  A prayer service will begin at 7 o’clock on Tuesday evening with Pastor Armando Escamilla officiating. (Click the link below to view the prayer service via live-stream.)

A graveside service and interment will take place Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Pallbearers taking David to his eternal resting place are his brothers Daniel Cavazos III and Luis S. Lopez, and his nephews, Daniel B. Cavazos IV, Christian T. Cavazos, Alejandro Roque and Alfonso Roque.  Honorary pallbearers are Carrie Pierce, Joe Pierce, and Monty Montemayor.

David will be immensely missed by his family, friends, and work community.
