Dario Reyes Arriaga

Dario Reyes Arriaga, 70, passed peacefully from this life on October 18, 2021.  A native of Los Fresnos, Texas, Dario was born October 25, 1950 to the late Martin and Herlinda Arriaga.

He was a graduate of Los Fresnos High School and Texas State Technical Institute in Harlingen, Texas where he received an Associate degree in Drafting and Design Technology.  He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation in Mesquite, Texas after 35 years of dedicated service.

In his leisure time, Dario enjoyed soccer and vintage collectables.

Dario was a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus, past President of the Ferris Soccer Association of North Texas, and a volunteer art instructor at Brighton Academy School for Disabled Adults in San Benito, Texas. He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Herlinda Arriaga, and a brother, José Arriaga.

Left to treasure Dario’s memory is his loving wife, Fina Arriaga; son, David R. Arriaga; and faithful canine companion, Sara.

A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Combes St., San Benito, Texas with Rev. Fr. Joe Villalón Jr., Celebrant.  Visitation will follow on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.
