Danny “DJ” Glenn Wood, 51, passed away on June 17, 2015 at his home in Harlingen.
Danny was born May 30, 1964 in McKinney, TX. He served his county with the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1984. DJ married Michele Jones and they were married for 20 years. He was active with the Pony Baseball Program where he coached from t-ball to high school. He also enjoyed hiking, reading and the rodeo. As much as he loved baseball, he loved the rodeo. His favorite was riding and fighting bulls with his rodeo friends. During his rodeo days DJ was known as “Legs”. Legs enjoyed having a chance to fight bulls with his best friend, Crash.
DJ is survived by his wife Michele Jones Wood of Harlingen, TX; son, Casey Wood of Harlingen; son, DuWayne Jones of Aurora, CO; daughter. Bethany Wood of Harlingen; son, Cameron Wood of Harlingen, TX; grandson, Bradley Wood of Harlingen, TX; nephew, Briar Holt of La Feria, TX; and numerous friends throughout the state.
He was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Glenna Wood and sister, Beverly.
A celebration of Danny’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Justice officiating.
