Daniel Lee Horak
HARLINGEN:
Dan left this life to enter a new life with Jesus on Sunday, March 4, 2007. He was born in Rosenberg, TX on April 1st, 1930 to Charlie William Horak, Sr. and Lydia Olga Slovak Horak. Dan was retired from Southern Pacific Railways after 36 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruby Hobson Horak; two children, Linda Darlene Pons and Daniel Alan Horak; their spouses Maxwell B. Pons, Jr. and Darlene Nicholson Horak. He was the proud granddad of Maxwell Pons, III (Trey) and Stephan and Brittany Horak. Also surviving are two brothers, Charlie William Horak, Jr. of Lake Jackson, TX and John Roy Horak of Rosenberg, TX and two sisters, Lorene Ann Kujawa and Mary Ellen Lucas of Houston, TX. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest sister, Ruth Nell Coursey of Alvin, TX.
Dan was a charter member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Combes, TX. Dan has had difficulties with the use of his legs for many years. The family finds comfort in their faith and the assurance Dan is running and jumping all over heaven as he uses his new legs.
No funeral is planned. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
