Daniel Douglas Erickson, 67, passed away on August 18, 2011 in Harlingen, TX.
Daniel was born September 7, 1943 in Omaha, NE to Daniel C. and Phoebe Erickson. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and received a Bronze Star with “V” for valor. Daniel attended Parsons College in Iowa and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He was employed world-wide with the U.S. Government and the private sector, working with Philco/Ford, Iran, T-CAS, Nigeria Ford Aerospace and mostly recently with Western Geophysical and Satellite computing for off-shore drilling.
Daniel was very patriotic and had a deep love for America. He had a lifelong interest in the Army, especially the 1st. Calvary. He supported the NRA and the PVA (Paralyzed Veterans of America). In his spare time, Daniel enjoyed trap shooting, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the PVA, Elks and Moose.
Daniel is survived by his sister, Diane Erickson Smith of Ft. Collins, CO, Jayne Erickson Finnestead of Manchester, MO and Nancy Erickson Carlile of Sanibel, Fl and Thayne, WY; eleven nieces and nephews; 15 grand nieces and nephews and special friends including the Eloyd Vega family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sally Erickson Vaden and nephew, Douglas Vaden.
Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.
