Dana Paige McMurray

February 27, 1967 — July 11, 2010

Harlingen/Houston:
Dana Paige Labar McMurray, 43, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at a hospital in Galveston, Texas after an unexpected end due to complications caused by Liver disease.
Dana Paige was born February 27, 1967 and was the youngest daughter of Wayne and Janice Labar.   As a child she was always smiling and made friends with everyone she met.  Dana was a care free young girl unlike any other.  She loved shopping with her mom and spending time with her dad sitting in a deer blind at the hunting lease.
Dana graduated from Harlingen High School in 1985 and was chosen as Little Princess and later was named Algodon Queen in 1986.  She attended Texas A&M University in College Station majoring in Agricultural Economics. Dana married Brett McMurray on February 17, 1990.  They had two children, Morgan Dyan and Mason Phillip.
Dana was the Rio Grande Valley property manager for a large Houston firm.  She managed as many as 53 properties from South Padre Island to Rio Grande City.  She became an appraiser for Robinson and Duffy in Harlingen and continued her appraisal career with Benes and Associates when she and her family moved to Sugarland, Texas.  She worked in the appraisal industry for over 20 years until she became ill two years ago.  No matter how weak she was or terrible she felt she stayed strong for her husband and children.
Dana was a kind, caring and wonderful wife and a passionate, amazing, loving mother.  She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, reminiscing with family members and above all living everyday to the fullest. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Dana is also survived by her mother, Janice Labar Bourg (John); twin sisters, Shaun Wadkins (Charlie) and their children, Wayne, Clinton, and Spencer (Charlotte); Sheryl Norman (Kevin) and son, John Kaleb; father and mother-in-law, Bill and June McMurray.  She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Labar on September 1, 2004.
Dana had a strong faith in the Lord.  She never questioned Him for her illness as she prepared for the Liver transplant.  Dana was upbeat with everyone till the very end…and inspiration to all who loved her.
