Cygni E. Crum, 77, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at her residence in Harlingen.

Cygni was born on April 14, 1940 in San Diego, CA to George and Alpha Ott.  She came from a military family and proudly served in the United State Marine Corp.  She met her husband at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC and they eventually moved to Harlingen in 1970 from North Carolina.

Cygni was a member of the First Baptist Church in Combes.  She was best known as “my children’s mom” along with some teaching and office work and helping her husband with his business ventures.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert Ray Crum of Harlingen; sons, Charles Ray Crum (Ruth) of La Feria and George Andrew Crum (Carla) of La Feria; sister, Vega Jean Day (Jim) of San Jose, CA; granddaughters, Whitney Palmer (Aaron) of Corpus Christi, TX, Private Rayann Crum, USMC of Camp Lejuene, NC; grandson, Travis Ray Crum of La Feria, TX; 3 great granddaughters, Jaylyn, Cheyenne, and Kalli Palmer; niece, Marilyn Hayes of Nashville, TN.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation hours will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Combes, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 13, 2017.  Burial will follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park in La Feria.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 402 Templeton Ave., Combes, TX 78535.
