Curtis W. Wilson, Jr., 93, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013 at his residence.
Curtis was born February 9, 1920 in Norfolk, Virginia. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corp as Master Sergeant during World War II.
Curtis was a successful representative of many large companies in the shoe industry including Stride Rite and Cherokee.  Following retirement, he went on to work for San Benito Bank and Trust where he became Vice-President of the Gold Dome Travel Club. During his years there Curtis traveled the world and brought a smile to many faces.  Curtis lived in Houston before moving to Harlingen in the 1990s.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harlingen and the Harlingen Country Club. He attended the Life Begins at Forty Golf tournament.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Patti Wilson; children, Jimmy Wilson and Barbara Barnett; grandchildren, Kelly Woodward, Brad Jenkins and Stephanie Kokot; great grandchildren, Julian Ferguson, Coy Davis, Chloe Woodward, Hailey Woodward and Riley Kokot; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley Wilson and John Wilson, Sr.; sister, Edith McComas; children, Diana Smythe and Robby Riley and grandchildren, Stephen Jenkins and Susanne Tull Davis.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Harlingen with Rev. Don Higginbotham officiating.  Burial will be held Thursday, August 8, 2013, at 10:45 a.m., at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
For those desiring to do so, memorial contribution may be made to the First Baptist Church, 501 E. Van Buren, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
The family would like to thank Dr. Eugene Nunnery and staff, Linda Soto and caregiver Ruth Vasquez for all their care and concern.  A special thank you to the girls at Golden Palms Beauty Salon.
