Corine Brandt

Corine Brandt, 93, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Corine was born on July 7, 1914 in Pflugerville, Texas to Paul and Malinda Merten.  She moved to the Valley in 1923 and at one time worked with the Santa Maria ISD and Queen City Laundry & Dry Cleaners in Mercedes.  She was a Charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Weslaco and currently a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Harlingen.
Corine is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Brandt and Mildred Brandt both of Palm Valley; sister, Irene Dear of Harlingen; special companions Molly and Sadie; extended family, Marie and Randy Schneider and Dorothy Cruce; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Brandt in 1978, her parents and three brothers, Louis, Clarence and Paul.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 15, 2007 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 16, 2007 with the Rev. Kathryn Cox officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
Pallbearers will be Blair Dear, Bill Brandt, Harold Kelm, Ubaldo Jacques, Jr., Jack Mims and C.B. Shields.
The family request that those desiring to do so, memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church in Harlingen or to the charity of choice.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Oladayo Sanusi for his care and concern for Corine.
