Clara Annie Lane Green, 98, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at her residence in Harlingen.
Clara was born on May 9, 1913 in Dew, Texas. She graduated from Fairfield High School in Fairfield, TX. She was a member of the high school tennis team and in 1930 placed 2nd at the state tennis championships.
Clara married Marion Lee Green in 1934 and they moved to Harlingen in 1941. She worked at the Flynn Investment Company for many years and was a former member of the1st United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Georgia Ann Taubert of Harlingen; granddaughters, Geri Green Wollmers of Houston and Cynthia Wynne Warner of Blanco, TX; grandsons, Robert “Bob” Green of Austin and Brian King of Longview, TX; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Joe Lee Green.
Graveside services only will be held at Mont Meta Memorial Park, 3:00 PM, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 with the Rev. David Mann officiating.
The family would like to thank Lisa Salazar, her staff and family for the loving care and devotion they have provided for “Ms. Clara” the last 13 years.
