Christine Ward Basse, 59, passed away July 29, 2015 in Harlingen, TX.
Christine was born January 19, 1956 in Brownsville, Texas to Douglas Edward Ward, Sr. and Maria Agripina Osorio. She received a B.S. in math and was employed as teacher for the San Benito C.I.S.D. and St. Paul Lutheran School. Christine was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in San Benito and enjoyed gardening and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin Basse of Rio Hondo, TX; daughter, Michelle Curtis of Minneapolis, MN; son, Michael Curtis (Marisa) of Brownsville, TX; grandchildren, Samantha, Joseph, Matthew and William Curtis; siblings, Virginia Rosillo (FX), John Ward (Virginia), Robert Ward (Mattie), Harry Ward (Jackie), sisters-in-law, Elvia Ward and Marilyn Hensz (David); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Douglas Ward, Jr.
Visitation will be held at funeral home, Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, Monday, August 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dustin Kear officiating.
