San Benito, TX-Christina C. Perez passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. She was an amazing mother and friend. Christina found joy in the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was no stranger to hard work and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Blessed are those who came to know the loving heart of this strong, faithful woman.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raul C. Perez; her parents, Pedro and Maria Carmen Claudio; and her brothers, Eliazar Claudio and Pedro Claudio.
Christina is survived by her children, Andrea (Waldo Jr.) Cortez, Joe (Jessica) Perez, and Jessica Perez (Joel Cortez); her grandchildren, Kameron Thomas, Cristian Raul, Zoe Abigail, Joshua Pete, Lupe III, Marco Antonio, and Bianca Lizette; along with 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special Thank You to the Cortez family for the love and affection shown to our family, we are truly grateful for everything you did for our mother; also our sincerest gratitude to George O. Sanchez and staff at San Benito Funeral Home for their help and support during this time of need.
Visitation will be held today, October 29, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral procession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Services will conclude after the mass.
Honored to be pallbearers will be her grandson, Kameron T. Perez; and her nephews, Nati "Boy" Claudio Jr., Pete Claudio, Anthony Claudio, Steven Claudio, and Michael Claudio. Honorary pallsbearers will be her son, Joe Perez; her grandson, Christian R. Cortez,and her son in laws, Waldo Cortez and Joel Cortez.
