Mr. Flint went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2008. He was born on October 3, 1923 in Santa Rosa to Chester & Cecilia Flint. Mr. Flint was a lifetime resident of Santa Rosa, Texas and was a graduate of Santa Rosa High School. Then he went on to attend Texas A& I University and earned a degree in education and coaching.
Mr. Flint taught and coached at Santa Rosa School District where he retired after many years of dedicated service. He was loved by all his students and faculty. During his coaching career he received several awards and recognitions.
Mr. Flint was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Cecilia Flint; his aunt Frances Johnson and his favorite dog Lady.
He is survived by his close friends, providers, Erasmo and Maria Garza who love him and took care of him for 24 years and by his good friend Santos Garza, Sr. who visited him. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.
The funeral procession will depart Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Santa Rosa with Father Edward Atangana as celebrant. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
Pallbearers will be Troy Garza, Erasmo Garza Jr., Santos Garza, Sammy Sanfelippo, Eloy Sanfelippo and Juan Garza, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Noe Garza and Leo Garza.
