Charles Adrian Pool

September 20, 1935 — December 3, 2018

Charles Adrian Pool passed peacefully on to heaven on December 3, 2018, in San Antonio, Texas, He was born September 20, 1935 in Harlingen, Texas and lived most of his life in Primera. Charles was the youngest of seven children born to Jerry C. Pool and Mary E. Knowis Pool. He enjoyed a loving and close family with siblings Fannie Feinberg, Allen Pool, Mary Massey, Dorothy Hauschild, Dannye Piersall and George Pool, all of whom predeceased him.

Charles attended Wilson School and graduated from Harlingen High School in 1955.  On June 8, 1956 he married his beloved wife Kathryn Cox, also from the Primera area. Together they raised their daughter Pam and their son Michael with unwavering love and support. Their home was known for its hospitality to many extended family members and friends throughout the years. Charles loved Kathy, his "Sugar", with all of his heart. When she passed away 3 years ago, he lost a little bit of that amazing twinkle in his blue eyes.

Charles’ first job out of high school was with Massey Equipment Service for his brother-in-law Bill Massey. After delivering milk for Hygeia Dairy, he spent some years working as a pipefitter until he saw a business opportunity and opened Universal Pump Service. He sold and serviced equipment for gas stations throughout the Valley for many years and was widely respected as an honest man and hard worker. Kathy did her part by working from home as his secretary and bookkeeper.

Charles was a lifelong lover of the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, being with friends and family, and perfecting his barbecuing skills. He was an awesome pit master, making some of the tastiest brisket and fajitas in Texas. He was an amazing father and husband who led by example. A quiet and gentle man, he walked the walk - not many words were necessary. He was 100% invested in his family until he went home to be with his Lord and loved ones.

First Baptist Church Combes was Charles and Kathy's church home for many, many years. They were faithful and generous members where Charles served as a Deacon and Trustee. They both adored their church family and the feeling was mutual. Due to declining health, Charles lived the past two years in San Antonio with daughter Pam and her family.

His loved ones, while sad, rejoice that Charles is now reunited with the love of his life

Kathy. They also want to offer much gratitude to Jordan Home Health Services in San

Antonio, particularly Terry, Mary, Carol and Alice for their amazing service and love for their dad. They also want to thank the Sonterra Health Center for taking good care of their dad in the last weeks of his life.

Survivors include daughter Pamela P. Kleiser of San Antonio, son Michael Pool and his wife Michelle of New Braunfels, grandchildren Jesse and Hunter Pool, Josh and Katie Beth Kleiser, and great granddaughter Zoey, along with many beloved nieces and nephews,
