Charles W. Crowley, 65, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Charles was born on September 19, 1946 in Dallas, TX to George and Marguerite Bennett. He was a graduate of St. Thomas Grade School in Dallas and a graduate from Jesuit High School also in Dallas where he lettered on the golf team four years. He attended UT Austin and graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.A. Degree in Business and Finance. He was a member of the ATO Fraternity while at Texas Tech and a lifetime member of MOAC. Shortly after graduating he entered the cotton business and traveled the world for the George BenneHarlingentt Co. which he eventually owned after his step-father passed away.
Charles had many interest which include golf, traveling to various countries, football, baseball, swimming, snorkeling, and cruises. He also was a member of the Harlingen County Club.
He is survived by his wife, Zorayda Bona and half sister, Cindy. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM on Friday, September 23, 2011 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 24, 2011. Services will conclude at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the RGV Food Bank, PO Box 6251, McAllen, TX 78502-6251.
