Celestino Ortega, Jr.

Celestino Ortega, Jr. passed peacefully from this life on January 17, 2021 at 80 years of age.  He was born to the late Celestino Ortega, Sr. and Consuelo Pecina Ortega on February 20, 1940 in Rio Hondo, Texas.

Celestino had a certificate in Auto Body Repair and owned and operated Ortega’s Paint and Body Shop for many years.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed dancing, fishing, and camping.

Left to treasure Celestino’s memory is his loving wife, Eresuita Ortega; children, Celestino (Maria) Ortega III, Efrain (Eva) Ortega, Esmeralda (David) Reyes, Consuelo (Robert) Esquivel, and Oralia Ortega; grandchildren, Celestino IV, Yvette, Yvonne, Valerie, Brandy, Ashley, Moriah, Efrain, Conrado, Dylan, David Jr., Daniel, Emilio, Rolando, Celeste, Eduardo, Kristina, Esteban.  Celestino was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Celestino, Sr. and Consuelo P. Ortega.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.  A Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Diana Castillo officiating.
