Cecilia Parra Huerta

San Benito, TX: Cecilia Parra Huerta, 94, entered into rest on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Harlingen Medical Center. She was born on April 12, 1917 to Rodrigo Parra and Adaliada Huerta.
Mrs. Huerta owned and operated Ceci’s Raspa Stand in El Jardin in San Benito for over 40 years and was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito.
She is preceded in death by her husband Serapio Lopez and her sons Santiago and Jose Parra. Mrs. Huerta is survived by her daughters; Estela(Bernabe) Pena and Juanita(Ruben) Castaneda, her grandson Juan Rube(Sylvia) Castaneda who she raised as her son and Jesus Rios of Mexico City, MX. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and her daughter-in laws; Maria Parra and Teodora Parra.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 31, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M.
The funeral procession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. for a 2:00 P.M. Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Castaneda, Anthony Farias, Justin Castaneda, Ruben Castaneda, Gustavo Parra, Jr., Kristopher Parra, JC Castaneda and Elijah Castaneda. Honorary pallbearer will be Erika Castaneda.
