Carroll L. Paris

Carroll L. Paris, 83, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2007 in Harlingen, Texas.
Carroll was born June 1, 1923 to James and Lula Lane Paris of Vincennes, Indiana.  He attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in Vincennes.
Carroll served his country in the 7th U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Hawaii and was a Pearl Harbor survivor.
He married on October 28 to Betty Richardson of Terre Haute, Indiana.  The couple moved to El Paso, Texas where he attended and graduated from the Texas College of Mines, now known as the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).  The couple then moved to Dallas, Texas where Carroll began his career as an Insurance Auditor with Texas Employers Insurance Co.  They were then transferred to Houston, then to Corpus Christi and then to Harlingen in 1979.
Carroll was a member of the Harlingen Elk’s Lodge #1889 and of the VFW Post #8315 in Schertz, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Betty “Ritchie” Paris of Harlingen; daughter, Kathleen Becker and her husband, Brian of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Visitation hours will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 3:00 PM, Friday, March 23, 2007.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice Health Care, 2501 Paredes Line Rd., Suite B-9, Brownsville, Texas 78526.
