Carolyn Hall

HARLINGEN, TX:
Carolyn Dabney Hall, 81, passed away July 23, 2008 at home surrounded by her family.  She was born September 23, 1926 to Arthur & Marguerite Dabney and was a life long resident of Harlingen.
She was preceded in death her parents, her husband of 49 years, Carl E. Hall, Jr. and her good friend Henry Griffin.
Carolyn graduated from the University of Texas where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.  Carl and Carolyn were married in 1948 and began their family in Harlingen.  She taught school for many years in the Harlingen ISD.  She was an active member of PEO and the Valley Historical Society.  Carolyn volunteered with the Harlingen Museum and with HOSTS Program.  Her joys in life were traveling, playing bridge with friends, and enjoying her family.  Carolyn was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church of Harlingen.
She is survived by her sister, Charlotte (Harry) Gump of Dallas; son, Chip (Phyllis) Hall of Harlingen; daughters, Jane (Lloyd) Cage, Ann (John) Miller, and Elizabeth (Randy) Wyman all of Corpus Christi.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Aaron (Cayce) Ranton of Houston, Meredith (Rick) Waterhouse of Corpus Christi, Jennifer Miller of Dallas, Lindsay Miller of San Antonio, Meagan Wyman and Robert (Renee) Wyman both of Corpus Christi.  Loving great grandchildren are Cage Hall and Virginia Rae Ranton of Houston, Madeline Channing, Richard Bryan, and Conley Jane Waterhouse and Aiden Wyman all of Corpus Christi.  She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Jean Nelson of Houston and Mary Jane Metz of Killeen; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2008 at First United Methodist Church.  Private burial will precede the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco or a charity of you choice.
