Carole N. Graham

December 30, 1940 — November 18, 2010

Carole N. Graham born in Harlingen, TX passed away peacefully Thursday, November 18, 2010. Carole is survived by her children; son, Jack Graham, his wife, Cynthia of Harlingen; daughter, USAF Captain Sherry Graham, her husband, Blane Neufeld, stationed at Tinker AFB, OK; sister, Jackie Magee (Charles) of Harlingen; two grandchildren, Shelby and Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy, a brother and sister, Samuel Joe and Margaret Ann, and parents, Jack and Gladys Guest.
Carole was the co-owner of Tommy Graham’s Paint and Body Shop, family owned and operated in Harlingen since 1978. She was a graduate of the 1959 class of Harlingen High School and subsequently worked at Boggus Ford Motor Co where she met her husband of 41 years, the late Tommy Graham.  She filled her life with a zest for fashion and in the late 70’s owned an upscale clothing store in downtown Harlingen, The Diana Shop. Carole was passionate about music and loved the piano, organ and singing which guided her to bring Gospel quartets annually to the Valley for over 20 years.  The only thing she loved more than music was her family. Carole spent her life alongside her best friend and husband hunting, fishing and traveling through Mexico, always with their children in tow. She was the only woman who could simultaneously juggle her kids in one hand and Tommy Graham in the other (no easy feat for anyone who knew Tommy). Carole was a wife first, a mother second, and a friend always. She loved her family, her employees, and lastly she loved life, she was feisty in nature and wasn’t afraid to take the bull by its horns. Her main focus was the needs of her family, but her heart was big enough to care for others as she never turned down anyone in need.
Visitation hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home. A celebration of Carole’s life will be at the church she grew up in and exchanged her lifelong vows with Tommy, First Assembly of God Church, 1021 E. Madison, Harlingen at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 22, 2010. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
