Carmen Ramirez, 95, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, in San Benito, Texas. Born on May 21, 1930, in San Benito, she was the daughter of Amalio and Josefina Esparza Perez.
Carmen dedicated 40 years of her life to nursing at San Benito Medical Associates before retiring. A devout member of the Catholic faith, she was actively involved with St. Theresa Catholic Church. In her leisure time, Carmen found joy in gardening, cooking, and baking.
Carmen was known for her warm heart and infectious smile. She had a talent for making friends and was admired for her witty nature and clever sayings, commonly referred to as “dichos.” Her gentle spirit touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Adalberto F. Ramirez, her daughter Maria Isabel Bialowas, and her golden retriever, Duchess.
She is survived by her children Bruni Ramirez, Catalina Bradley (Kurt, deceased), and Adalberto "Perrin" Ramirez Jr.; and dear family member Concha Juarez; her grandchildren Adam Bialowas, Andrea "Rene" Parker, Jamie Caitlin Parker, Marissa Isabel Ramirez, and Aaron Figueroa; as well as her great-grandchildren Jazmine Bialowas and Milagros A. Juarez. Other family members Stephanie Ramirez, her son-in-law Gary Bialowas, her siblings Alicia Tapia, Gilberto Lerma, Socorro Saldana, and Edmundo Garcia, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
The Ramirez family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock Thursday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Carmen will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Arnold Ramirez, David de la Garza, Joe Hernandez, Rolando Gonzalez, Juan Yzaguirre, Carlos Romero, Adam Saldana, and Ruben Ramirez.
