Carlos Soto
November 4, 1930 — March 16, 2017
Carlos Soto, 86, of Rio Hondo, Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Mr. Soto was employed at Growers Orita Cotton Gin as a superintendent for over 25 years where he retired and went on to work part time as a bus driver for Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernabe and Juana Galvan Soto, a brother, Candelario Soto and a sister, Alta Gracia Buchanan.
Left to cherish Mr. Soto’s memory is his wife of 52 years, Maria Inez Ruiz Soto, his children Linda (Adalberto Jr.) Sandoval, Yolanda Soto and Joe (Diana) Soto and his grandchildren, Karly, Marissa, and Christina Sandoval, Christopher Alaniz, and Rebecca, Cynthia, and Cassandra Soto. He is also survived by his sister Librada Guajardo and brothers Andres and Reyes Soto.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Rio Hondo. Interment will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
