February 1, 1934 — March 19, 2007

Harlingen, TX:
Carl R. “Cap” Moore departed his earthly home on March 19, 2007 at VBMC in Harlingen.
He was born on February 1, 1934 to Howard and Gertha Moore in San Benito, Texas.  He lived, worked, and raised his family in Harlingen for most of his life.  He began his working career with Mission Paving Company.  He then became co-owner of J.W. Cap is survived by his sons, Kenny (Missy) Moore and Rick (Diane) Moore.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Jennifer, Dustin, Brandon, Kaitlyn and Kylie all of Harlingen.  Cap’s grandchildren always knew that they could count on their “Papa” to go the extra mile for them.
Other surviving family member include his mother, Gertha Moore of Spring Branch, TX; his brother Donnie (Jeannette) Moore of Rio Hondo, TX; his sister Betty (Preston) Evans of Spring Branch, TX; his sister Lee Wise of Spring Branch, TX; his sisters-in-law, Toy Moore of Victoria, TX and Mae Barfield of Harlingen, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cap is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Jean Moore; his precious daughter, Patti; his father Howard Moore; his brother Dale Moore; his brother Everette Lee Moore; his father-in-law and mother-in-law J.W. and Vada Barfield; and his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Wise and J.W. “Bill” Barfield.
Services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Mel Justice of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating.  Burial will follow in Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The following family members and close friends will serve as pallbearers; Mike Lingensjo, Kenny Morrison, Mark Mehaffey, Randy Mehaffey, Danny Elder and Todd Aune.
