Carl L. Holmberg, 96, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2007 at his residence in Harlingen.
Carl was born on December 20, 1910 in Wayne, Kansas to Charles and Anna Holmberg. He had been a winter visitor to the area since the early 1970’s and became a permanent resident of Harlingen in 1997. He was a former resident of Tonganoxie, KS and Cuba, KS. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in La Feria, TX.
Carl is survived by his wife, Dorothy Holmberg of Harlingen, TX; daughters, Phyllis Levy of Walnut Creek, CA, Marilyn Gallagher (Bob) of Memphis, TN and Victoria Cherin (Stephen) of Pittsburgh, PA; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joan Holmberg of Cuba, KS and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Delwood Holmberg and sisters, Leona Johnson and Ruth Fate.
Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church in La Feria, TX, 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 4, 2007 with the Rev. Bill Slaughter officiating.
