Brian William Norris

May 7, 1988 — October 27, 2007

HARLINGEN, TX:
Brian William Norris, 19, of Harlingen, Texas, entered into the Lord’s Kingdom on Saturday, October 27, 2007.  Brian’s smile will be forever etched into the loving memory of all those he touched.  He was born on May 7, 1988 and raised in Harlingen, Texas by his parents, Joseph W. (Bill) and Sharon Norris.
From an early age Brian, or “B” was always one that would charm anyone he came into contact with, young or old.  He is remembered for his gentle heart and disposition and his love for what life had to offer.  He loved to take each day as if it were his last and made dull situations exciting, never meeting a stranger along the way.
He loved his family and friends and he was always helping others above himself, whether it was helping someone move, taking time to talk to, cook, clean or just “chill” with his friend or family.  He could fit into any situation.
He loved life in an exciting way.  The annual family skiing/snowboarding trip was a highlight every year at double black diamond and off trail ski runs was the norm for him.  Needless to say, other activities through the years of his short life, caused minor setbacks in time through broken bones, bruises, concussions and multiple scrapes and cuts. There was not much he could not do when he wanted to as evidenced by hiking a 14,000-foot mountain peak at age 12 and saying “I did it”.
Other activities include weight training, biking, paintballing, fishing, boxing, MMA Summer Camp, Aggie football games and just giving big hugs.
He knew how to ease any situation with his smile and a simple “it happens”.  Even though his life was cut short, he touched more lives in a special way than most of us can in an average lifetime.
He spent his entire life in Harlingen.  He graduated from Harlingen High School South. He attended many youth activities through the First United Methodist Church, including the Chrysalis retreat.  He was a personal trainer at Fitness Exchange and was an American Power Lifting Foundation State record holder.  He touched all of the lives of those in the gym and they were blessed to have had him in their lives.
Chemical Response & Remediation Contractors (CRRC), Harlingen, also employed him.
His friends and surviving family will remember him with love and admiration. He is survived by his parents Bill and Sharon Norris of Harlingen, Tx., brothers Chris Norris of College Station, Greg Norris (Marisa) and Cameron Norris of Harlingen, Tx.  He is also survived by his aunt and uncles, Becky Smith of Houston, Steve Reynolds and Marshall Adamson of Houston, Tx, Bud Norris (Ramona) of Houston and Brad Norris of Las Vegas, NV. And one niece, Lena Norris of Harlingen.  Surviving cousins include Lee Legrice (Martin) of Ft. Worth, Tx., Christy Norris, Keith Norris and Jeremy Smith of Houston.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2007 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Memorial services will be held Friday, November 2, 2007, 11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Harlingen.  Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brian William Norris Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 2544, Harlingen, Texas 78551.
