Blanca Estella Garcia

October 30, 1961 — March 12, 2025

Blanca Estella Garcia, 63, loving sister, aunt and loyal friend, died peacefully March 12, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born October 30, 1961, to Francisco Leonel and Estella Davila Garcia. Blanca was brought home to the same place where the family lived with her great aunt Paula Davila, in the original, ancestral residence of great-grandparents, Ramon and Rita Quintanilla Davila, San Benito, and where she lived all her life.

At San Benito High School where she graduated in 1980, Blanca played saxophone in the band and served as parliamentarian on the executive council all 4 years. She was a member of the Keywanettes, and Future Homemakers of America. Four years later, Blanca earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education at Texas A&I University and began her teaching career in the early grades with little children she doted on and loved.

Blanca enjoyed baking cookies, a practice she learned from her mother, and distributing to friends, relatives, favorite businesses. Not too long ago, she took up playing Bingo which helped support her other favorite past times-- shopping and discovering new restaurants in the Valley.

After over 30 years of service in the Los Fresnos and Harlingen school districts, Blanca retired from Harlingen ISD Crockett Elem. to help care for her mother who preceded her in death 4 years ago. Her father, brother Lionel Obed Garcia, and great aunt Paula Davila also preceded her in death. Blanca is survived by her sister Melissa Yvette (Hector) Galvan and sister-in-law Lydia Garcia; her pride and joy - her nephews David Saul Munoz, Jr., Lionel Obed Garcia, Jr., LeRoy Obed Garcia and numerous cousins.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Sean Dvoran, Luis Banuelos, Jr., Ray Martinez, Enrique Moreno IV, David H. Garcia II, Daniel H. Garcia, Tony Franco, Robert Salinas and Jameson Dvoran.
