Age 96
Beverly was born on January 11, 1922 to Homer and Mildred Lawrence in Battle Creek, Michigan. She had one brother, Richard. She was married to David Palmiter at age 21 and remained so until David’s passing in 2015. Beverly had no children of her own, but was the beloved aunt of her brother’s three children, Richard Jr., Lucinda, and Larry and sister-in-law and friend to Richard’s wife, Katherine. Beverly and David were active in the lives of the Lawrence’s for all the family’s holiday and school and other events. Youngest nephew Larry recalls his aunt as always being “The nicest person in the room”.
Beverly and David lived just outside Battle Creek most of their lives in a country house they built themselves, becoming “Winter Texans” in their later years and finally year-round Texans when their traveling days were over. They were inseparable their entire marriage and delighted in travel, always bringing back stories and gifts from such places as Alaska, New Zealand and the 1962 world’s fair in Seattle. They were avid skiers during the times when skis were long and wooden and scary. Beverly was always up on the latest styles of clothing and decorating. She was constantly creating clever new art and crafts. She led a long and full and fun life.
Beverly is survived by niece Jane Ellen Palmiter Leach, nephew Larry Lawrence and friend and caretaker Rosa DeLosReyes. Beverly was greatly loved by the entire Palmiter-Wade family. It was always an occasion for great joy whenever Beverly and David visited. When Jane Ellen’s husband (Ray) was alive they often visited Beverly and David in Texas. Since Beverly and David were married three days after Jane Ellen was born, Beverly often told her she could never forget her birthday. And we all will never forget our wonderful Beverly.
