Betty Porter Robertson

Harlingen, Texas

Betty Porter Robertson, aged 94, went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 3, 2024, in Harlingen, Texas. Born on February 27, 1930, Betty dedicated much of her life to her family and her faith. 

Betty graduated from Russell High School and furthered her education at Ashland Jr. College. She built her career at Tropical Savings and Loan and Harlingen National Bank, where she was respected for her diligence, integrity, and serving Winter Texans. In her many years of retirement, Betty enjoyed travelling to see her family and finding adventures in the National Parks. 

A devout member of Harlingen Bible Church for over 40 years, Betty's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she loved her church family. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt of her favorite niece and five nephews. 

Betty is survived by her daughters, Kim Robertson Gilley and Lyn Robertson; son, Charles David Robertson (wife Lisa); sister, Claudine Dyke; grandchildren, Charles Thomas Gilley (wife Jackie), Pamela Savoie (husband Justin), Jordan Elizabeth Robertson, and Charles Exley (Jack) Robertson; great-grandchildren, Caleb Thomas Gilley, Charlotte Rae Gilley, Hank Thomas Savoie, and June Elizabeth Savoie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Robertson; parents, Norman and Ethel Porter; and siblings, Dorthy Risher, Helen Overton, and Carl Porter.

A memorial service will be held at Harlingen Bible Church on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 3 PM. Betty's life was a testament to her strong faith and the love she had for her family and friends.

The family would like to thank the special care givers from Maluhia Hospice Care, and mom's personal care giver Maria Paz for all her love, support, and very hard work.
