Betty Jo Lewis, 79, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Angel Care in Harlingen, Texas.
Betty Jo was born November 15, 1929 in Pelley, Texas to Septine and Estelle Champagne.  She graduated from San Perlita High School and was owner/operator of Lewis Septic Service.  Betty Jo was enjoyed family, sewing, cooking and mostly fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Johnny “Bud” Lewis and three brothers, Ervin Champagne, J.C. Champagne, and Eugene “Gene” Champagne.
Betty Jo is survived by her children, Johnny Lewis of Harlingen, Cheryl Hays (Jim) of Portland, TX, Jerald Lewis (Ronda) of Harlingen and Debra Parks (Scott) of Rush Springs, OK; two sisters, Marie “Dolly” White and Lucille “Tutte” Mutz; grandchildren, Jason Hays (Amanda), Jeffrey Lewis (Carrie), Justin Hays, Jeremy Lewis, Ashley Parks, Bryan Parks; and one great granddaughter, Jayden Hays. Also, surviving her are numerous nieces and nephews; many many friends; and half-sister, Anabelle Jones.
Visitation hours will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Memorial services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Bob Cole officiating.
The family would like to thank Janice and the staff at Angel Care The Haven for their loving care.
