Betty (Ford) Johnson

Betty Ford Johnson, born August 21, 1931, died June 24, 2022. She was the youngest of five children and is preceded in death by her parents, James E. Nolen and Bessie Lillian Reed; three brothers, Billie, Mack and Harris Nolen; and one sister, Undine Hutchens. She is also preceded in death by two husbands, Leroy F. Ford and Johnnie J. Johnson.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ford (Chris B.) Well of Cibolo, Texas, and her grandchildren, Alex (Katie) Well of San Antonio, Texas and Lauren Well of Dallas, Texas, all whom she loved dearly.

Betty loved her God, family, work and community and was involved in the life of each. She owned and operated Val Gas in La Feria for 31 years, M&H Oil in San Benito for 12 years and International Petro Gas in Laredo, Texas. Betty retired on Nov. 1, 1991.

A celebration of Betty’s life and of God’s faithfulness will take place Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of La Feria with Pastor Mark Ross officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of La Feria, Texas.
