Betty Ann Price Halbrook
Harlingen:
Betty Ann left us peacefully to go home to her Lord Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007. She had fought several health battles for 4 long years and finally, in her own words announced she was through.
Born Betty Ann Ottwell on April 19, 1929 to her loving parents, Sigel Ottwell and Gertrude Cloniger in Woodriver, IL. She married the late Harry E. Price on April 20, 1943. They settled in Brownsville, TX in 1947 after Harry was discharged from the U.S. Navy.  They had been married 55 years when he passed away in November of 1998. Betty then met William “Bill” Halbrook in January of 2001. They were married March 21st, 2001.  They enjoyed 2 ½ years of travel, golf and their church before Betty became too ill to participate.  Her life changed drastically, but her faith in God and family never waivered.
She was preceded in death by both parents, first husband Harry, and her only sister, Wilma Briley.
Betty, known affectionately as “Memaw” is survived by husband Bill; daughters, Cindy and Annette; son, James (America); granddaughters, Jamie Lusby (Don), Little Betty Ann Price; and two great granddaughters, Jena and Jackie Lusby.
Her family wishes to thank all of Betty’s sitters, Nora, Mati, Frances, Cassandra, CiCi and Audrey who cared for her for so long.  We also wish to thank Dr. Robert Holder for all the years he helped us cope and adapt to her health needs.  He gave her the nickname of “The Come-Back Kid”.  Thank you all, for being such and important part in the life of a marvelous, compassionate woman who touched so many people with her kindness, devotion and sweet smile.
