Betty Jean Boykin, 81, passed away February 9, 2015 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Betty was a native of Harlingen. She worked in the dental field for 30 years and later was a volunteer at Valley Baptist Medical Center. Betty had a love for music, loved and worshiped God, and had a smile for children. Betty was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was cherished and loved by many people.
Betty is survived by daughter, Judy K. Young; life partner, Dean Russell; sister, Margaret Butcher; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Boykin Jr., father, Lester A. Garrett, mother, Annie Garrett; daughter Janie Jones; and son, Joey Boykin.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held Friday, February 13, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Harlingen-Combes Cemetery.
