Beth Ann "Kitty" (Williams) Fedigan

July 8, 1951 — August 24, 2022

Heaven gained another angel Wednesday, August 24, 2022 with the passing of Beth “Kitty” Fedigan, age 71. Beth passed in her sleep, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with Leukemia. She is survived by her high school sweetheart, husband of forty-seven years, and soulmate of fifty-one years, Paul Fedigan; her daughter, Chelsea Leah; son, John Paul; sisters, Cathy and Jane; and countless friends (and animals) she opened her doors for throughout her joyous life.

Beth Ann Williams was born July 8, 1951 in Washington D.C. to Helen and Brooks Williams. She attended Westbury High School in Houston Texas where she met Paul, and they married February 8, 1975 in Bayview, Texas. She studied art throughout her school years and won several awards along the way. Beth and Paul had two children, Chelsea and John Paul, and raised them on South Padre Island.

A natural-born artist and master at her craft, Beth painted for decades bringing life to galleries, design studios, hotels, restaurants, businesses and homes, across the country. Her signature bold multi-color marine life paintings are a testament to her love for the ocean and tropics, where she spent her entire life – living in South Padre Island, Texas and the big island of Hawaii. She was a true colorist, seeing everything in life in full color. Her belief that a painting should draw someone from across the room for a closer look remained strong, even in her final pieces.

If you didn’t know Beth from her art, you knew her from her love of animals. There was not an animal she turned a blind eye to. She was the President of the Laguna Madre Humane Society, where she managed and ran the Spay and Neuter Clinic, sacrificing long days and nights caring for the abandoned pets she would later save. One of her passions was educating people of the importance of spay and neuter. Her proudest accomplishments pertaining to LMHS was surpassing the goal of 10,000 spays/neuters to take place at the clinic.

Beth’s courage, grace, kindness and willingness to serve will never be forgotten. She was “Mom” to many, and “friend” to even more.

To celebrate her life, a service will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of Isla Grand Beach Resort, 500 Padre Blvd., South Padre Island, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Beth’s honor to the Laguna Madre Humane Society (www.lmhsclinic.com), 417 1/2 E Maxan Street, Port Isabel, Texas 78578.
