Bernice E. Cole

September 10, 1921 — July 7, 2014

Bernice E. Cole, 92, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.  Bernice was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1921.

Bernice was a longtime resident of Harlingen.  She enjoyed socializing (especially at Luby’s), dancing to Big Band Music, cooking and golfing with the 9 Holers at the Harlingen Country Club.  She also was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harlingen where she helped organize the Church Bazaar for many years.

Bernice is survived by her sons, Charles W. (Elaine) Corliss and Sidney W. (Melissa) Corliss; grandchildren, Bryan Flash (Gina) Corliss, Beth (Frontis) Newell, MaryBeth (Michael) Snyder, Jennifer (Tom) Trinker, Skyler Corliss, Locklain Corliss, Greg Corliss, Gretchen (David) Schwertzer, Wynn Corliss and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Wayne Cole and her son, Robert Anthony (Tony) Corliss.

Visitation hours will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, Thursday, July 10, 2014, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM.  Private entombment services will be held at a later date.
