Benny L. Williamson, 89, passed away on June 30, 2014 in Harlingen, TX.
Benny was born December 24, 1924 in Morocco, Indiana to Lloyd B. Williamson and Mary McNorton Williamson. He served his country with the U.S. Navy as a 3rd Class Petty Officer during WWII. Benny was employed as a Plant Manager for American Plasticraft in Chicago, IL and as a Purchasing Director for Stearn Electronics in Elk Grove Village, IL. He was a past member of the BPOE Elks of Harlingen, a member of the American Legion of La Feria, TX, the Masonic Lodge of La Feria, the Rio Grande Valley Shriner Club; where he served as treasurer and First United Methodist Church of La Feria. Benny loved to play golf and fish.
He is survived by his son, Douglas Williamson of Lake in the Hills, IL; grandchildren Michael (Susan) Williamson of Crystal Lake, IL, Joan (Damian) Williamson and Mary (Chris) Williamson both of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law Lynne (Ken) Abraham of Schaumburg, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Benny was preceded in death by his wife Betty B. Russell Williamson in 1998 and siblings Pete, Lucille, Tom and Jan.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in La Feria on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 3 p.m.
