Benito Lopez, Sr.

Benito, Lopez, Sr. 84 passed away at his residence on Friday, November 2, 2018. He was born on September 16, 1934 in San Benito to Guillermo & Ignacia Mendoza  Lopez.

He was member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, a graduate of San Benito High School,  an Army Veteran and was retired from the Harlingen CISD after 23 years of service.

Benito was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Guadalupe Lopez,  Paulino Lopez, Sr.; sisters: Lilia Guajardo, Dora Sosa; and his son Javier G. Lopez

He is survived by his wife Maria Tristan Lopez; children: Yvonne Frances (Luciano E. Chapa, III) Chapa, Benito Lopez, Jr., Benedict (Christina) Lopez; grandchildren: Ian Lopez, Kalio Lopez, Jennifer Lee Lopez, Benedict Lopez, Jr., Amanda Lopez, Mark  Lopez (Garcia), Macey Lopez (Garcia), Samantha Lopez, Iesha Lopez, Brianna Lopez, Brandy Lopez, Zoe Sway Chapa and his brother Pedro Lopez, Sr.

Visitation was held on Monday  12:00 pm to 9p.m. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6th at St. Benedicts Catholic Church and burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.

Honor to serve as pallbearers will be Santiago Guajardo Jr., Willie Lopez, Sr., Francisco Tristan, Sr., Bill Houseworth, Benedict Lopez, Sr., Luciano E. Chapa III
