SAN BENITO, TX. Benito Joaquin ”BJ” Garcia Sr., born on the 21st of May 1964 in San Benito, Texas to his parents, Federico A. and Concepcion M. Garcia, passed away on Monday, the7th of March 2016. He was fifty-one years old.
His father Federico Garcia, his maternal grandparents Pedro and Salome Mancillas, paternal grandparents Francisco and Josefina Garcia, and his father in law Mack Wayne Sterling preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife Virginia Ellen “Ginger” Garcia ; his sons Benito Joaquin ”BJ” Garcia II & Aaron James Garcia, grandson Benito Joaquin Garcia III, his mother Concepcion Mancillas Garcia, sister Nydia A. Garcia, brother Federico A. (Lilia) Garcia, sister in law Kim (Tim) Mozely, brothers in law Jerry M. (Shelly) Sterling, James M. Sterling, his mother in law Judith E. Ayars, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Eluid Martinez, John Allmon ,Carlos Ramirez, Raul Huerta, Ruben Montenegro, Omar L. Mancillas,Tim Mozely, Tom Gonzalez, and honorary pallbearer Pat Hernandez,
Visiting hours are on Wednesday, the 9th of March 2016, beginning at three o’clock in the afternoon and concluding at nine o’clock at night, with a rosary to begin recited at seven o’clock Wednesday evening within the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel, 1400 West Highway 77, San Benito, Texas 78586.
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, the 10th of March 2016, at ten o’clock in the morning, in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Combes St. San Benito, Tx. Committal Services will then follow at Garcia Cemetery in San Benito.
