Belia R. Coy -100, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maximo and Josefa Rodriguez; husband, Emilio Coy; son, Miguel Coy,;three brothers, Federico Rodriguez, Samuel Rodriguez, and Jose Rodriguez; two sisters, Anita Benavides and Lupita Garcia.
Belia was born on January 21, 1911 and lived her entire life in the small community of El Ranchito, Texas. A devout woman who held strong to her Catholic faith, she was a lifelong member of San Ignacio Catholic Church.
Belia will most fondly be remembered for her devotion to her family and friends. She was a very spirited woman who touched the hearts of everyone with whom she crossed paths. Belia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved gardening and finding beauty in the kind words, gifts, songs, laughter and hugs she received from family and all those will willing to share special moments. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Raul Coy, Emilio (Delia) Coy, Tita (Jose) Leal, Carlos (Ofelia) Coy, Maria Rita (Santiago) De la Fuente, and Amelia (Jerry) Howland; seventeen grand children and twenty great-grand children.
Public visitation will be on Monday, May 9th, 2011 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to start at 7:00 PM that same evening at San Benito Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 10th, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in El Ranchito, Texas with interment to follow at “Esparza Cemetery” on F.M. 281.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of San Benito Funeral Home.
