Rio Hondo, TX: Beatrice Atkinson Chapa, 91, passed away on May 15, 2011.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Atkinson and Josefa Arismendi; her husband, Jesus Chapa and her son, Tony Chapa.
Beatrice is survived by her daughter, Dora Lee (Ruben) Cervantes; her grandchildren, Marisa (Robert) Huerta, Ruben Cervantes, Jr., Eric Cervantes, and Jacqueline (Jordan) Rhone; her great grandchildren, Jordan III, Jasmyn,and Jackson Rhone; her sisters, Josefina Flores and Mary Lucie Atkinson Cruz; her brother, Tony Atkinson; and several nieces and nephews.
She retired as a cafeteria manager from Las Yescas and Los Fresnos Public Schools. Beatrice was a loving mother and grandmother; she loved to cook for her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.,with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Helen Catholic Church in Rio Hondo. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
