Beatrice L. Cervantes

Beatrice L. Cervantes passed peacefully on April 25, 2023. She was born to the late Manuel Lino and Eulalia Arisola Lino in San Benito, Texas.

Beatrice enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Luz A. Cervantes; beloved son, Richard Cervantes; parents, Manuel and Eulalia A. Lino; and her siblings, Manuel Lino Jr., Raúl Lino, José Alcario Lino, and Luciano Lino.

Left to treasure Beatrice’s memory are her daughters, Cynthia Diaz (José Luis) and Valerie Cervantes (Oscar García III); sister, Tomasita Muniz; grandchildren, Danielle Cantú (Rene), José Luis Diaz, Ana Christina Diaz, Alexander Nicolas García, and Victoria Samantha García; and great-grandchildren, Sebastian Diaz and Carolina Isabella Cantú. She also leaves behind her dear friends, Diana and Henry Pena, Alicia Garcia and Estela Hernandez.

Beatrice’s family wishes to extend special thanks to the caring staff of Harlingen Medical Center Intensive Care Unit.

The Cervantes family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin Sunday evening at 7 o’clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Beatrice will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are José Luis Diaz, Darío Muniz Jr., José Alcario Lino Jr., José Luis Diaz, Leonel Muniz, and Alexander García. Danielle Cantú, Victoria García, Carolina Isabella Cantú, Alicia García, Ana Christina Diaz, Sebastian Diaz, and Diana Pena will serve as honorary pallbearers.
