San Benito–
Arturo Montez Lopez Jr., 55 entered the Lord’s heavenly Kingdom on Monday at his residence on March 28, 2016. Art was born in San Benito, TX on April 30, 1960.
He was an honored veteran who served in the 82nd Airborne Division on Fort Bragg, North Caro-lina.
Art is preceded in death by his parents Arturo and Beatrice Lopez and grandson Arturo Phoenix Lopez IV.
He is survived by his pride and joy, his only child, Arturo Lopez III, (Michelle) and grandchildren: Arthur, Adrian, Alexander, Genevieve, William and Theodore; as well as his loving wife Theresa (Tessi) Briseno; his brothers George Lopez, Desi Lopez and John Lopez (Jennifer); his sisters Yolanda Lopez, Tomasita Delgadillo (JD) and Gracie Lopez. He had many nieces and neph-ews and was a proud uncle to his great nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by many great friends and last but not least his beloved furry companions Toyota, Sofia and Pepper.
Art love to spend time with his family and eating sweets, his vivacious personality will be greatly missed but will never be forgotten.
Viewing hours are on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at San Benito Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016, 12 noon at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will then follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Arturo Lopez III, George Lopez, Johnny Lopez, Miguel Tapia, Nicholas Rodriguez, J.D. Delgadillo, Matthew Lopez and Daniel Tapia.
